Our concern in the sense of the DSGVO (justified interest) is the improvement of our offer and our web appearance.

For this we use an active IP anonymization, the IP address of the users is shortened within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Newsletter

You have the opportunity to subscribe to our newsletter via our website. For this we need your e-mail address and your declaration that you agree with the subscription to the newsletter. The newsletter is sent by MailChimp, a newsletter shipping platform of Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave, United States.

The relationship with MailChimp is based on a European Commission’s (Privacy Shield) Appropriateness Decision and a contracted data agreement between us and MailChimp. The data processing takes place on the basis of the legal regulations of the §96 Abs 3 TKG as well as  6, 1 (consent) and / or f (legitimate interest) of the DSGVO. Our concern in the sense of the DSGVO (justified interest) is the improvement of our offer and our web appearance.

The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other information described in these notes, are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletters on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp may, according to its own information, use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of the shipping and the presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes, to determine from which countries the recipients come. MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write them down or to pass them on to third parties.

The registration for our newsletter takes place in a so-called double-opt-in-procedure. As soon as you have subscribed to the newsletter, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with a link to confirm the registration. This confirmation is necessary so that nobody can register with external e-mail addresses. The registration for the newsletter will be logged in order to prove the registration process according to the legal requirements. This includes saving the login and confirmation times as well as the IP address. Similarly, the changes to your data stored with MailChimp will be logged.

The newsletters contain a so-called web-beacon, a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. As part of this call, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval are collected. This information is used to improve the technical performance of services based on their specifications or audience and their reading habits, based on their locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times. Statistical surveys also include determining if the newsletters will be opened, when they will be opened and which links will be clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients, but it is neither our endeavor nor that of MailChimp to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our newsletter recipients and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our newsletter recipients.

There are cases in which we direct the newsletter recipients to the MailChimp websites – for example, our newsletters contain a link that allows newsletter recipients to retrieve the newsletters online (for example, in the case of display problems in the email program). Furthermore, newsletter recipients can store their data, such as correct the e-mail address later. Similarly, the privacy policy of MailChimp is only available on the MailChimp website. In this context, we point out that on the websites of MailChimp cookies are used and thus personal data processed by MailChimp, their partners and service providers used (for example, Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. For more information, see the privacy policy of MailChimp: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/. Please also refer to the possibility of objecting to the data collection for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).

You can terminate the receipt of our newsletter at any time, by revoking your consent. At the same time, your consent to sending it via MailChimp and its statistical analyzes will lapse. A separate revocation of the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical evaluation is unfortunately not possible. A link to cancel the newsletter can be found at the end of each newsletter.

Your rights

In principle, you have the rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and opposition. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or if your data protection claims have otherwise been violated in a way, you can complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the data protection authority.
